Warm days and abundant gardens make for perfect picnics. THRIVE .01, from our Color of Hope Collection, is a fresh and happy hue that feels like summer year round. MAKE THIS: Shy Chevron using THRIVE .02 and THRIVE .05 for a simple and subtle pattern in a kitchen or sunroom.
Here’s what you will need:
1 gallon THRIVE .01 eggshell (or more depending on the size of your room. Use our Paint Calculator to figure out exactly what you need)
1 quart THRIVE .02 eggshell
1 quart THRIVE .05 eggshell
1 roll of 1″ blue painter’s tape
1 paint brush
3 roller set ups for speedy chevron painting!
1 drop cloth
Level and pencil
X-acto knife
Using a level, make a 12″ grid across your wall. We went 36″ up for this subtle design.
Using your pencil, draw a diagonal line in each box. Alternate between top and bottom as you move across your grid to create a zig zag.
Tape along the outside of your lines. Take an X-acto knife and cut the inside where the tape connects for a sharp point.
Seal along the inside of the tape with your base coat - THRIVE .01 - for perfect lines. Learn more about this PRO TIP here.
Get out your roller and paint the top and stripes with THRIVE .02.
Remove the tape! YEAH!
Repeat the above steps for the middle stripe.
You’re almost done! Roll out THRIVE .05. (This color will surely make you smile!)
Erase or paint over any visible pencil marks.
VOILA! The perfect Shy Chevron. Way to go!
