Put the pieces of a little boy + girl’s room together easily with the gender-neutral pairing of METAL .03 and CREATE .01. You can easily mix and match different interests and aesthetics seamlessly in one room with this gentle combo of soft grey and creamy orange. BONUS: no fighting over whose side is whose with this easy step-by-step Puzzle Wall technique.
Let’s get this paint party started. Paint one half of your wall in CREATE .01. We recommend 2 coats for the best representation of the color. Wondering how much you need? Check out our paint calculator. And PS- how yummy is this creamy dreamy orange hue?!
Cut a 12” triangle out of cardboard to use as your template. Starting at the top of the line, place the triangle on the edge of the painted line and trace the outer edge with a pencil. Go down the line, being sure to move the triangle back and forth for a more jagged effect.
Tape off your line with blue painter’s tape. Use an X-acto knife to clean up the extra tape on the inside of the triangles. This will give your triangles nice and sharp points.
PRO TIP: To make the perfect line without paint leaking through the tape, brush a light coat of the base paint (in this case CREATE .01) along the inside edge of the tape. This will seal the edge. Any leaking under the tape will be the same color and sheen as the base coat, so you won’t be able to see it. This is what will make your line PERFECT!
Pop the can of METAL .03, and brush this color along the inside edge of the tape.
Roll baby roll (with METAL .03)!
Carefully unmask to reveal your perfect Puzzle Wall! You’ll want to unmask immediately, pulling the tape gently toward the freshly painted area as you go.
