Come get comfortable with us as we explore Color Trend 2015 – Homespun Hues. In this palette we bring it back home by incorporating subtle Americana influences. The Made in America movement is strong, and we find ourselves looking for “Made Here” labels on the products we purchase. Weave together flea market finds with hand-crafted designer furniture for a look that’s both casual and luxurious, soft and simple, and intentionally unsophisticated. Use Colorhouse hues AIR .01, AIR .03, WOOD .04 and WOOL .06 to create a Homespun feel in your home.

AIR .01 is a soft, warm white like a homespun yarn that creates a simple backdrop for well-worn objects or art of any medium. Use it in bedrooms and living areas as a fresh and clean wall, ceiling or trim color that works with every hue in the Earth’s Color Collection. We love this clean and cozy look we found on Apartment Therapy.

You can also use WOOL .06 as your neutral on walls. Pair with AIR .01 on the trim and ceilings to soften the edges, add a pop of red and other brights in textiles, and incorporate natural wood to create the look of casual luxury.

WOOD .04 is a full-bodied red that gives guests a warm wlecome! Add bold pattern with a striped rug, a beautiful hand-carved bench or even a thrift store find, along with some hooks made from branches to easily re-create this Homespun look in your entry.

If you rent, you may not be able to paint your walls. We love this idea from Better Homes and Gardens of using boldly printed fabrics to add color and pattern in your space. Wrap colorful fabric onto a pre-made canvas or put it in frames to display unique textiles found during your travels - either to faraway lands or your local flea market.
